Thank you so much for making my birthday a memorable one.
Pittsburgh Steelers tickets
Football is by far the most popular sport in the U.S. but also very popular across the globe. With a obsessed fan base and some of the highest paid athletes in the world, Football's past can be traced back to the early part of the twentieth century when a number of small leagues started cropping up in different regions across the country.
These days the NFL, or National Football League, is one of the best-known sports leagues on the planet and, depending on where you live in the U.S., if you are a fan of football you usually have defined and unmistakable allegiance to the team that either plays football in your city or an adjacent one.
If you live in Pittsburgh you are undoubtedly a Steelers fan. Steelers fans are, to put it mildly, especially bombastic of their team and have zero problem voicing their particular opinion about how great it is and how awesome the Pittsburgh Steelers roster is. They say that if you're an Pittsburgh Steelers fan you bleed Steelers colors and I wouldn't dare test this theory on any fanatic Steelers enthusiast at game time.
There are 32 teams across the U.S. that are a part of the NFL and your allegiances usually are formed predicated on either where you were born or where you grew up. This actually makes for very interesting and exciting games because, since Americans tend to move quite frequently, you can often find fans of one city's team located in a different area but still cheering for "their" team when they are in town to play the local team.
Some states, and even some cities, have more than one NFL team that represents them. Normally you can find one of these teams representing the NFC, or National Football Conference, while the other represents the Atlantic Football Conference, or AFC .
The Pittsburgh Steelers logo is based on the Steelmark logo belonging to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). Created by U.S. Steel Corp. (now known as USX Corp.), the logo contains three hypocycloids (diamond shapes).
In the 1950s, when helmet logos became popular, the Steelers added players' numbers to either side of their gold helmets. Later that decade, the numbers were removed and in 1962, Cleveland's Republic Steel suggested to the Steelers that they use the Steelmark as a helmet logo.
