Philadelphia Eagles tickets
Football is by far the most popular sport in the United States but also extremely popular all over the globe. With a loyal fan base & many of the highest paid players in the universe, Football's lineage can be delineated back to the early part of the twentieth century when a few small leagues started cropping up in various areas across the country.
Today the NFL, or National Football League, has become one of the most well-known sports organizations on the planet and, depending on where you live in the U.S., if you're a fan of football you usually have definite and distinct allegiance to the team that either plays in your city or one close by.
For example, if you live in Philadelphia you are very likely a Eagles fan. Eagles fans are, to put it mildly, incredibly appreciative of their team and have zero hesitation making their opinion known about how great it is and how tough the Philadelphia Eagles players are. They will say that if you're an Philadelphia Eagles fan you bleed Eagles colors and I would not dare test this theory on any fanatic Eagles fan at game time.
There are 32 teams across the country that are a part of the NFL and your allegiances usually will be formed based on either where you were born or where you grew up. This actually makes for interesting and exhilarating games because, since Americans tend to move quite frequently, you can sometimes find fans of one city's team living in a completely different city but still cheering for "their" team when they come to town to play the home team.
Some states, and indeed some cities, have more than one NFL team to represent them. usually you find one of these teams representing the National Football Conference, or NFC, while the other represents the Atlantic Football Conference, or AFC .
A meticulously organized man, Reid began keeping a notebook as a Green Bay Packers assistant - a three-ring binder - that would help prepare him to one day become a successful head coach and one of the best in Philadelphia Eagles history.
Reid saved the old ideas and devised new plans, plans that he would later implement as a head coach. But this was not about game plans. It was about how to build a winning organization. It included practice, travel, and offseason schedules, notes from Holmgren's speeches, biographical information of other coaches, and much more.
As a player at BYU, Reid was also a columnist for the Provo Daily Herald. "I had my own little column," said Reid, who once longed to be a writer for Sports Illustrated. "I loved Jim Murray (a long-time columnist with the Los Angeles Times). I wrote one of these cutesy deals, trying to write like Jim. (laughing) The editors took it easy on me. I enjoyed writing. I still do. I keep a journal to this day. It's a great release."
It was at a physical education class at BYU that Reid met the woman who would become his wife, Tammy. "What attracted me to him more than anything was his character. He's just a really good guy, very honorable and very conscientious." Reid converted to the Mormon faith in 1979 which Tammy and her family had practiced.
They have five children, each of whom was born in a different state - sons Garrett, 24 (4/13/83); Britt, 22, (4/28/85); and Spencer, 15 (6/16/92); and daughters Crosby, 19 (3/17/88); and Drew Ann, 17 (3/9/90).
Reid All About It:
Since 2000, only Tony Dungy (79) has won more regular season games than Reid and Bill Belichick, who have both won 75 contests during that span.
