New York Jets tickets
Football is not just the most popular sport in America but it is also hugely popular across the globe. With a fervent fan base & many of the highest paid players in the universe, Football's history can be traced back to the early part of the 20th century when a number of small leagues started cropping up in varied regions across the country.
These days the NFL, or National Football League, has become the best-known sports leagues in the world and, depending on where you live in the states, if you're a fan of football you usually have definite and distinct alliances to the particular team that either plays football in your city or a neighboring one.
For example, if you live in New York you are very likely a Jets fan. Jets fans are, to put it mildly, especially bombastic of their team and have no hesitation making their opinion known about how great it is and how capable the New York Jets roster is. They say that if you are an New York Jets fan you bleed Jets colors and I would not dare test this theory on any hardcore Jets fan at game time.
There are 32 teams across the country that are a part of the NFL and your allegiances usually will be formed based on either where you were born or where you grew up. This actually makes for interesting and exhilarating games because, since Americans tend to move quite frequently, you can often find fans of one city's team living in a different area but still cheering for "their" team when they are in town to play the home team.
Some states, and indeed some cities, have more than one NFL team that represents them. Often you find one of these teams representing the National Football Conference, or NFC, while the other represents the Atlantic Football Conference, or AFC .
The New York Jets stadium is known as The Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Guests who attend events at the Meadowlands Sports Complex are expected to have a good time and urged to drink alcoholic beverages responsibly. The New York Jets stadium is rich in history.
In 1965, the Jets signed University of Alabama quarterback Joe Namath, who chose to sign with the Jets over the St. Louis Cardinals, the team that held his NFL rights. Namath's contract was for a then-record $427,000 annual salary.
After failing to reach an agreement with the City of New York about improvements to Shea Stadium, and reaching an agreement with the New Jersey Sports and Exhibition Authority to play their home games at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey beginning in 1984, the Jets played their last season at Shea (New York Jets home until 1983)in 1983. However, the stadium was painted in the Giants' red and blue color scheme, with decidedly temporary-looking modifications for Jets games, including stadium employees waving enormous Jets flags at the back of each end zone and a flimsy, windblown Jets mural covering the blue inner stadium wall. Moreover, the Giants had a tremendous head start in attracting fans close to its New Jersey home, whereas the Jets' fan base remained on Long Island. Without rail service between Long Island and the wetlands area where the Meadowlands is located, Jets fans faced a difficult trek through several layers of dense New York Metro-area traffic on game days.
