The Hideout at the 2014 Houston Rodeo
Every year since 1933 the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo puts on its annual show and indeed it’s the world’s largest. Over 3 weeks the 2 million visitors who make their way to Houston for the show are attended by nearly 16 thousand volunteers from the city and suburbs. The Rodeo attracts people from all over the globe and has an International night to prove it. They also have their own international wine celebration, a parade in downtown Houston that’s one of the largest in the world, and more cowboy acts than you can shake a stick at. In a word, it incredible. Every year at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo there’s also something that is unique to Rodeos and that’s The Hideout. A magnet for up and coming country talent The Hideout is located in a giant white tent on the east side of the Reliant Astrodome. During the 3 week show The Hideout is open for anyone that’s 21 or older and, for those who love country music with all their hearts and souls, it’s an excellent opportunity to hear some of the best. Better still, there’s no extra cost. Once you’ve paid your way into Reliant Stadium the Hideout is free. For many who attend the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo the Hideout is one of the best attractions. They music is excellent and the variety too, and there’s dancing and two-stepping to be had the whole night through. If you’re keen on heading into The Hideout on any given night just keep a few things in mind. Get their early because the best seats go fast. Bring your dancing shoes and your cowboy boots because there’s going to be dancing all night long. And bring your love of what Houston calls one of the best attractions of the year. The best part, as we said, is that your admission ticket to Reliant Stadium is the only ticket you need to get into the Hideout. During the week the performances start at 10:15pm and on the weekends they start a little earlier at 8:30pm.
