Experience the College World Series

College World Series playersSince 1950 Omaha, Nebraska's Rosenblatt Stadium, originally called Omaha Municipal Stadium, has been the host of the NCAA College World Series — the yearly college baseball Division I championship tournament. Throughout those 60 years Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium has evolved into a representation of what college baseball is all about undergoing a $7 million renovation in 2001 that added 10,000 new seats, bringing the total capacity to 23,145.

Each year the 8 best Division I college baseball teams meet at Rosenblatt for the double elimination CWS tournament. The first two days of the tournament feature two sessions with one game in each session, each one requiring a separate ticket. Starting on the third day some College World Series sessions include two games, an afternoon and an evening game, with a single CWS ticket allowing entrance to both games in that session.

Rosenblatt Stadium - Home of the College World Series

Because Rosenblatt Stadium has been through several renovations it has a little bit of a "pieced together" look to it but it is still an excellent place to see a ball game. There are plenty of seats underneath cover for those looking for shade as well as many seats out in the open including a general admission lawn area. There are seating sections that extend as far as the foul poles down both the left and right field line, as well as bleacher sections in the outfield. The concourse area tucked underneath the seating area offers an assortment of concession stands and also houses the ticket office and souvenir stand. Rosenblatt Stadium sports just a single scoreboard in left field just next to the foul pole. The outside of the stadium is rather unappealing, though unique, and it has been said that it looks like a large blue erector set.

College World Series batterThe city of Omaha where the College World Series is held has many different attractions and events to visit in between baseball games including the AK-SAR-BEN Aquarium and the famous Lewis and Clark Landing. Additionally, Rosenblatt Stadium is also home to the minor league baseball Omaha Royals.
